Buildtronic/Smarts Toy
Under an internship, I provided illustractions and graphic designs for a company aiming to pioneer their form of S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and math), initially called ‘Buildtronic.’ Their mascot is a hero named SMARTS (science, math, art, reasoning, technology, and speech), whic they planned for their their storybook and website logo. This was my first real foray into digital drawing and designing as a professional. The company is now called ‘Smarts Toy‘.
neuroFIT
During my final college years, a classmate of mine linked me which her brother who was running a start-up tech company that centered on eye movement and brain health called neruoFit. I provided a series of black-and-white mixed media illustrations. This was a more verbal contract relationship, but it was an enjoyable one as I got to use my favorite medium: ink, pen and brush. ‘Hey, It Could Happen!’
A writer and poet friend of mine told me that he had written three children’s stories a long time ago and only had one of the stories illustrated. He still needed someone to illustrate the other two ‘ stories. The first of the two, “Nathan’s Shocking Day,” I used colored pencils and filled the pages with as much detail as necessary. In the second of the two, Tish’s Toenails, I used ink, pen, and bush, utilizing limited colors in a minimalist-ish style. Both stories have been published twice, the first time independently as standalone books, then again through Advanced Publishing LLC as a part of a children’s anthology called ‘Hey, It Could Happen!‘
